Occupy Nigeria Now Or Die Trying

Nigerian youths have been pushed to the wall by the removal of fuel subsidy on the 1st of January 2012 by the Jonathan Goodluck administration.

Unknown to the government, the youths have been waiting for a moment like this in order to demonstrate their anger about corruption and lack of trust on their government, not minding that the government have promised them that the money will be used for infrastructural development.

The question now is how long will this last and what will the government do? Back down and listen to the voice of the people or disregard the youths and carry on with IMF policy.

Nigerians are tired and ready to occupy their country, enough is enough. Some youths have been killed by the Nigerian Police but that did not stopped them from protesting on the streets rather it has encouraged them so that their deaths will not be in vain.  (May their souls rest in perfect peace Amen)

Where do we go from here, is democracy no longer the government of the people by the people and for the people? Are we practising cabalcracy where few people described as cabals take the economy of the country as a personal business.

Twins born in Brazil with two heads and one heart

Jesus and Emanuel
Jesus and Emanuel share a heart

Conjoined twins have been born in Brazil with two heads, two functioning brains and two backbones - but a single heart.

The rare condition is thought to have occurred when one of the pair failed to fully develop in the womb.

Doctors say separating the twins, named Jesus and Emanuel, is not currently an option because there is only one set of organs, Reuters reports.

They are being monitored by specialists to see how they develop.

Dr Neila Dahas, who is treating the newborns, said surgery was not being considered at the moment.

But she said separating the boys would be impossible because of the single set of organs - and that it was difficult to choose which head to remove because both brains were functioning well.

Celebration Xmas with cow and other food items in PDP Secretariat

Live cows roaming the PDP HQ in Abuja

By SaharaReporters, New York
Trailer loads of rice and cows are arriving at the National Headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party in Abuja as politicians and others currying favour try to out-do each other to win the affection of members of the Secretariat.
So far, more than 3,000 bags of rice have been shared by the leadership of the party. As of Tuesday, there were 19 cows within the compound of the party in Abuja.
Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State was one of the first to make a splash, sending in a trailer with registration number XC3543 AU bearing 600 bags of rice.
Vice President Atiku Abubakar was also early, with an undetermined number of bags of rice sent to the party leadership.
Thoughtfully, he then sent another 400 bags of rice and two fat cows specifically to the staff. Evidently knowing the greed that runs his own party, Atiku urged the leadership, led by Alhaji Kawu Baraje, not to tamper with the gifts he meant for the workers.
Wasting no time, the staff sharply slaughtered the animals and shared them.

One of the more curious deliveries on record has come from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), a non-political federal body, which sent two-trailer loads of rice to the party. It is not clear under what sub-head the body financed the gifts, or whether they may have been part of a seizure made by its officials somewhere. It was learnt, however, that one of the trailer-loads was diverted by the leadership of the party, which demanded that it be sold and the proceeds shared among them, thereby proving Atiku’s theory to be correct.
SaharaReporters has established that the NCS did not send anything to any other political party in the country, of which there are 56.
The Comptroller-General of the NCS is Alhaji Abdullahi Inde Dikko, who was appointed in 2009 by the former President, Umaru Yar’Adua. Mr. Inde Dikko was married to the sister of Yar’Adua’s wife, Turai.
On October 22, 2009, Chief Magistrate O. O. Oyewunmi of the Abuja Chief Magistrates Court ordered the police to investigate and report as soon as possible, a criminal complaint filed at the court against Comptroller-General Abdullahi Inde Dikko by one Olajide Oyewole Ibrahim and activist lawyer Festus Keyamo that the new Customs boss was thriving professionally on forged educational credentials.
Mr. Inde Dikko never bothered to deny the allegations. The police never filed the report demanded by the Abuja court. The court never asked for the report it demanded.

Beyonce’s parents part ways

Singer Beyonce Knowles’ parents Mathew and Tina have officially parted ways after 31 years of marriage.
The couple were issued a final decree of divorce in a Texas court last month – two years after stylist Tina originally filed legal papers.

The couple separated in 2009 after it emerged Mathew, who managed his daughter’s career until earlier this year, had fathered a love child.

Their original divorce filing was dropped last year after both failed to appear in court, leading Tina to file a divorce petition again in August this year.
In court documents, Tina, 57, said the marriage was ‘insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities’ which ‘prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation’.

Tina and Mathew

Tina’s original divorce filing came just a month after it emerged Mathew, 60, had fathered a child with former Scrubs actress Alexsandra White, who was pregnant at the time.
White, 40, gave birth to their son Nixon on February 4 2010 following an 18 month affair with Mathew.
Although he initially denied he was the father, a DNA test later proved otherwise.

In March, Beyonce severed business ties with her father, but insisted she was not estranged from him on a father-daughter level, despite her parents’ split.
Mathew had managed Beyonce’s career from a teen wannabe to girl group bandmember with Destiny’s Child to superstar solo singer.

He has been responsible for bringing in a lot of her lucrative advertising jobs including multi-million dollar jobs for L’Oreal, Tommy Hilfiger and Pepsi.

Tina worked as a stylist for Destiny’s Child throughout their fame and teamed up with her daughter to create the House Of Dereon fashion line in 2005.
Tina and Mathew, who married in a 1980, also have a younger daughter, singer Solange, 25.
Solange herself is divorced after splitting from husband Daniel Smith in 2007 after three years of marriage and a son Daniel Julez, seven.

Hmmmmm, they should have waited till Beyounce puts to bed  chai!

Thirty four temporary staff stopped work at the Newtown sorting office

Seasonal staff at a Birmingham sorting office have threatened to walk out after a delay in paying wages.

Agency staff were recruited at Royal Mail's Newtown depot to help tackle an increase in post at Christmas.

The temporary staff are meant to be paid weekly, but some said they had not received a wage in three weeks.

Royal Mail said it had experienced problems with its payroll system and staff would be paid as soon as possible.

In a statement, the company said: "We apologise for this as our temporary Christmas staff are very important to us.

"Firm action is being taken to resolve outstanding pay issues. We apologise for the difficulties that this situation has caused to a minority of our temporary workers."

Thirty four staff walked out on Monday over unpaid or incorrect wage payments.

It also follows a similar situation at a Wolverhampton sorting office last week and in Essex on Monday.

About 18,000 temporary staff have been recruited by Royal Mail across the country at the busiest time in its year.

The staff are employed via Angard Staffing Solutions, an agency owned by Royal Mail and managed by Reed Specialist Recruitment.

Royston Allcock, one of the workers at the Newtown office said: "It's going to be a quiet Christmas, because I was relying on the money."

Mr Allcock, who also runs a small internet company, said he had intended to use the money to buy Christmas presents for his three children.

He added that many people who had joined as temporary staff had previously been unemployed and had stopped receiving Jobseeker's Allowance to take on the work.

Jonathan, Sambo To Spend N1billion On Food In 2012...N16.6million Budgeted As Rent For VP's Residence-Premium Times

Taxpayers will spend a fortune feeding the president and his deputy next year
The Federal Government plans to spend approximately N1 billion in feeding its first and second citizens next year if the National Assembly approves President Goodluck Jonathan's spending proposal as submitted to it last week.
The president and his deputy will together enjoy N992.57 million worth of food and general catering services in 2012.
According to a detailed analysis of the N4.749trillion budget the president presented to lawmakers last week, the cost of purchasing food stuffs, catering supplies, kitchen equipments for the president and his vice, and their offices, will cost the nation N992.57 million, about N7 million away from a billion naira.
The document, obtained by Premium Times, contains the administration’s fiscal outlay for the next 12 months, and remains subject to the approval of the National Assembly.
Lawmakers have already questioned the huge allocation of nearly a fourth of the budget to security, and the still high recurrent cost, and have indicated plans to review the figures downward.
The estimate indicates that of the N18.34 billion budgeted for the State House, about N1billion would be spent on providing food for the president's household as well as that of his deputy.
A further breakdown shows that taxpayers would have to cough out approximately N477million to pay for foodstuffs and “catering materials supplies” for the president's office. The taxpayers, most of which are poor and frustrated, will have to fork out an additional N293 million to provide "refreshment and meals" for the president's comfort at his home and office.
Yet, an additional N45.4 million would be needed to buy canteen and “kitchen equipment” for the president's household, although similar purchases were made last year.
For the vice president’s office, the foodstuff, catering and materials supplies are to cost N104 million, while cooking gas and cooking fuel will consume N6.2 million.

There is money in Nigeria but it's for only a few while the masses can hardly eat 2 meals a day.
